Jawaf is a customer-service assistant that reads comments and messages sent to a business on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, and helps that business reply to them. This policy describes exactly what it stores and why.
When you comment on or message a business that uses Jawaf, Meta sends us:
We do not receive your email address, your friends list, your profile details, or anything you post elsewhere.
If your message contains a phone number or an email address, it is replaced with a
placeholder such as [phone] before anything is written to our
database. We do not keep it, and a reply can never quote it back to you in public.
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, use it for ad targeting, or combine it with data from other sources.
You can remove Jawaf from your Facebook account at any time (Settings → Apps and Websites). Meta notifies us and we delete everything associated with your user id automatically, then show you a confirmation page.
You can also ask directly by contacting the business operating this service at the contact address listed on our Facebook Page, and we will delete your data within 30 days.
On a private server operated by the business operating this service. Access is limited to that business's own staff. Text is sent to a language model provider only to generate a reply.
This service is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly store their data.
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes and the business using Jawaf is notified.
